The bible does not directly address the issue of Birth control but I have been studying the scriptures lately and I got a bit confused so I decided maybe I should hear the view of others on this. Feel free to express you feelings questions or concerns I hope that youth leaders, pastors, married people, doctors and young people could learn from each other on this blog.

In Genesis 38, the scripture talks of Onan who refused to get his brothers' wife Tamar pregnant so he let his semen fall to the floor and God punished him. Also Psalms 127 verse 4-5 states As arrows are in the hand of the mighty; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. These two scriptures show punishment for Onan's "contraceptive method" and the blessing of having many children.

This topic is controversial in many ways since contraception is not only for the the prevention of pregnancy but for many other medical reasons which include hormonal imbalances and disease prevention. (Let me use this opportunity to say I do not condone premarital sex and if you primary reason for contraception is disease prevention married or not you probably need to re-examine your life).

Post your thoughts, lets start a dialogue and learn from each other.

God Bless You
